WHAT IS EQUP COMMUNITY

Child development ideally has to be a collective effort which helps in shaping the character of the future generation. As an old African saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child”. This concept is more relevant in these times like never before, especially when it has become difficult to raise kids in good order in this tech- savvy world. From time immemorial, parenting has been an area that gets misjudged often and society has contributed its share in making it look foolproof by handing over the whole responsibility of a child to her mother and the rest is conveniently forgotten. But fortunately, the time’s changed, the concept is at least partially if not completely rewired and with increased research studies it has become known that parenting is not a walk in the park. On the contrary, it is a huge responsibility not only on parents but also on the people from various walks of life.

Children are curious learners. They learn from the surroundings and people around them. Ideas, concepts, culture, everything get engrained in their minds without fail. In the process they may falter, raise doubts, question the ideas and to reason with them/ help them in need is as important as it is fun. It’s only the invariable functioning of this system that will ensure the holistic and accurate development of the kid. In addition, the theory of ‘tabula rasa’ or clean slate is a concept of great importance in the light of experiential learning. The term dates back to the writings of Aristotle and is coined by the British philosopher John Locke. It says that an individual is born without built-in mental content and everything is learned through experience and perception. Equp Community is an initiative that brings this idea on to the centre stage and believes in the efficacy of collaborative each child. In a similar vein, we also believe in the personal analysis, assessment and monitoring of children that will give us insight to the behavioural, mental, social, physical, and mental idiosyncrasies of every child and we offer this on various levels that will ensure their holistic development.
